Night One: When I Cannot See
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me. Psalm 23:4"
Some nights the road only shows you the next few steps. You want the whole map, the reason, the end of the story, and instead you get a little light and a lot of dark. This is not God withholding. It is God walking close enough to lead.
Faith was never seeing the whole way. It was trusting the hand that holds yours when you cannot. You do not have to find the strength to see tonight. You only have to let yourself be led. Lay down the need to understand it all before you can rest. The One who made the morning knows the way through the dark, and He is not hurrying ahead of you.
Lord, I cannot see the road, and I am tired of pretending I can. Lead me one step. Hold me when I cannot stand. I will trust the hand I cannot see. Amen.
